The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Silicon Valley, originally called the Mexican American Chamber of Commerce, began its formation in 1955. The Hispanic Chamber was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1973, and it began offering services to the Latino small business community. The Hispanic Chamber founders sought to maximize Hispanic business and economic development to increase better understanding between Hispanic businesses, corporate America and the community at large.
Over the years, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has provided assistance and support to numerous Latinos and other minority small businesses in the following areas: business education, economic assistance, international business, entrepreneurship, education, community development, loan program development, and procurement assistance, to name a few. The Hispanic Chamber Commerce serviced over 5,000 clients over the past 50 years and has helped businesses procure loans totaling over 3 million dollars. The many business and community related programs and services reflect our never-ending concern for giving the highest quality service to our business community and the community at large.
The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce offers a variety of programs and services.. It is a recognized and influential player in the development of the social, political and economic landscape of this region. In 1999 the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce was recognized as the best large Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in the United States by the United States Hispanic Chambers of Commerce via an independent auditing firm. In 2010, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Silicon Valley was awarded “Chamber of the Year” for the Northern Region and the State of California by the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce. The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Silicon Valley is committed to the passionate pursuit of Latino business empowerment.
